Beginning on January 15th, we will begin The Truth Project for High School Students. This will take place Tues-Thurs from 11:15am – 12:15am and is sanctioned by the school administration alongside of the long-running seminary course the LDS Church also sponsors.
The course is co-taught by Matt of Church of the Res and Ken Grant of Wind River Baptist Church. Last semester’s course had students from several churches attend and we are hoping that this Spring semester we will enroll students from even more churches. Please be sure to share this with any Christian High School student that you know and to encourage them to register prior to the commencement of the course. All public school students registered for the course must receive permission from Principal Turcato to leave campus.
Last semester’s course ended very well with each student writing a 3-5 page paper on the historic reliability of the Bible. The course can be fairly academically challenging running at or near college level, but each student was able to rise to the task and by the end of the semester they were comfortable in their knowledge. The students also became very good friends and have all begun hanging out with one another outside of the course, nothing like a little “koinonia” to build Christian fellowship. Although students must bring a sack lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, on Thursdays we provide lunch, usually pizza, and have a good time discussing the course itself and our role as Christians within our culture.
There are more links on Youth Page if you would like to see trailers for the course.
